Interview with Khun Panus Jirawanitchakorn |

| “I would like to pass on a message to all Thais to help the society, in particular, for disadvantaged children dealing with their education. I like to encourage those who are able to help by making donation even with a small amount, just to assist those waiting for your support. Perhaps, if we contribute on special occasions like our birthday party or other celebrations, the little sum could be used for a child’s education for several years to come. The help to disadvantaged children dealing with their education improves the society and surely, results on your own sense of fulfillment.” |

Khun Panus Jirawanitchakorn
Khun Panus Jirawanitchakorn is a donator who has made contribution to poor children of the EDF Project for almost 10 years. Khun Panus earned a bachelor and master degree in business management from Yokohama University of Japan. Presently, he jointly cooperated with his Japanese partners to establish GK Finechem. Recently, Khun Panus and his elder brother founded and managed Top Plaspack company.
Khun Panus said that he started donating through other associations and foundations. After receiving EDF brochures, he learned more of how the scholarship granting process worked. Since 1997 until the present, he decided to make another donation for education of EDF’s poor children living in the rural area. He believes that the small contribution will cause him no harm but can help disadvantaged children to further their education which is important for every child. Well-educated children will not become a burden to the society but will grow up to improve the country in the future. |

The Education of Thailand has not been adequately developed, in comparison with many countries, even with neighboring countries such as Malaysia or Singapore. The knowledge level of Thai children is lower than the international standards, specifically those Thai children in the countryside who lacks education opportunity. The education level of Thai children, therefore, cannot be enhanced to the targeted goal. Well, at least, Thai children should be given basic education opportunity.
The help to disadvantaged children dealing with their education improves the society and surely, results on your own sense of fulfillment.”
