Scholarship Presentation Ceremony in Sisaket by Mattel Inc.
Mattel Inc., a world-class toys manufacturer, in cooperation with EDF, organised a presentation ceremony to offer scholarships to underprivileged students in the province of Sisaket. Organised at Ban Dindam Laosentai School in Amphoe Nonkhun, the presentation ceremony was honoured by Deputy Director of the Office of Educational Service Sisaket Area 1, who came to be presented with educational media and materials for the special education of students with disabilities at the host school.
To get to know more of the village children’s way of living, 16 volunteers from Mattel Inc. including executives and officers went to meet and talk with the school students; they also joined with the locals in fun games and activities. Some of them even volunteered themselves in repainting and refurbishing the classroom for the education of students with disabilities. In that evening, everyone was welcome at the school assembly hall for dinner and then joined the northeastern-styled welcoming ritual called ‘Bai Si Su Kwan.’ Everyone ended up the day staying overnight at the school.
In the morning of August 9, the volunteers from Mattel with all of the local people assembled at the temple of the village for food offerings to monks before saying goodbye to the locals then returned to Bangkok, leaving the school and local people with good time and memories.
