Rienthong was born and raised in a financially disadvantaged family,
which has instilled in him a deep appreciation for money
and the habit of spending frugally and saving diligently.
On weekends, I help my parents harvest long beans for sale, earning 50 baht for each session. I save this money for school expenses. My parents also give me a small allowance during the school term, which I use sparingly and save for emergencies. After school, I help with household chores like finding grass for the cows and assisting my younger sibling, so my parents can rest after their tiring day.
In addition to helping his parents with household chores, Rienthong also
works in the family garden to earn extra income for his educational expenses.
I dream of becoming a teacher because I want to help others and secure a better future for myself and my family. I also hope to repay my parents by helping them pay off their debts and ensuring they can live comfortably without worry.
If I receive a scholarship from the EDF Foundation, I will make the most of it. I am determined to study hard and achieve my dreams. I sincerely thank everyone who supports me and helps make my aspirations possible.
Rienthong dreams of becoming a teacher so he can help
underprivileged children like himself gain knowledge, empowering them
to become self-reliant and earn a livelihood to support their families.
