I currently live with my grandmother and has lost contact with parents after their divorce.
The old house of Fahsal’s grandmother where she has lived
after her parents divorced and lost contact with them.
My grandmother is old person living on the 600 baht monthly pension from the government. Because we are poor, my grandmother has to work odd jobs such as mowing the grass, doing housework, cutting trees, washing clothes, etc. The pay depends on the employer. If there is no employment, my grandmother buys plants and sells at a flea market. I always help my grandmother with the household chores. During weekends, I help her do odd jobs at various places to help earn some income.
Fahsai helps her grandma with household chores and goes out to work
with her grandma on holidays to help earn more money.
The house where I currently live with my grandmother is old and falling apart. During the 2020-2021 school period, I had to study online at home, which helped cut travelling costs, meal expenses and others. Normal schooling had resumed this year and we are back to spending for school and other costs. I intend to study hard to finish grade 9 and continue study in the vocational level in the coming academic year 2023.
Fahsai dreams of becoming a building designer and supervising
construction work. She has applied for a scholarship to study vocational
level in civil engineering and get a job to support her grandmother.
My dream job is to be a building designer, construction supervision of buildings and roads. I am determined to pursue vocational certificate level at a technical college after graduating from grade 9. I would like to receive scholarship support from the EDF Foundation to cover related expenses. I believe that education is the only way that I can make my future better.
