Feasibility survey in Mae Sot to expand our support to Burmese children in Thailand
On 24th- 27th January 2011, EDF staff visited NGOs, government office, Burmese Learning center and 3 Thai schools in Mae Sot and rural area where there are number of Burmese children stay.

There are thousands of Myanmar Migrant’s children are living around Mae Sot and its rural area. We had visited Tak Educational Service Area 2 (Tak ESA2), 3 Thai Schools and Burmese learning center which are supported by International NGOs.

We had shared information and exchanged ideas with Deputy Director of Tak ESA2 , NGOs and surveyed Ban Meepa Nuea School, Huay Namnak Wittaya School, Ban Kangpiban school and 4 Burmese learning centers within 4 days and 3 nights trip. We had received the greater vision and knowledge of the Myanmar Migrants situation, Burmese children’s Education, Thai-Myanmar border situations and their families’ difficulties in Thai – Burma Border.

By mid of March 2011, EDF will plan to do our feasibility survey inside Myanmar.
