IT Education Project
Information and Technologies (IT) Education plays a vital role by providing the tools that would allow students to keep pace with an increasingly high-tech society and also narrow the technological gap between urban and rural students.  Many rural schools do not have important resources such as computers or internet access.  The persistent technology gap between urban and rural students can be attributed to budget restrictions, lack of infrastructure and a shortage of experienced teachers.  A recent survey identified the Northeastern Region as the area with the greatest need of improvement.
EDF is helping by:
  • Providing hardware, software and internet access to schools with inadequate facilities.
  • Organizing workshops to train students and teachers in basic computer applications and providing unlimited online resources that would simultaneously enhance both the teaching and learning process.  Teachers and students will also learn about maintenance and maximizing the life and efficiency of the equipment.

I never thought our school would have good computers to use.  I was really inspired
