The “NGOs for International Entrepreneur” or a Field Study Program for the 6 students from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU), Japan was arranged by EDF during February 6th-24th, 2012. The program focuses on various aspects of NGOs/NPOs including EDF and other NGOs/NPOs in terms of roles, responsibilities, development work and management. APU students spent one week to observe field works and be given the lectures about each organization’s work in many places

for example, Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD) in Bangkok, The Redemptolis Vocational School for People with Disabilities in Chonburi province, Bhumirak Center in Nakhon Nayok province and Graduate Volunteer Center of Thammasart University.
Then they spent another one more week to experience in Udon Thani Province; northeastern part of Thailand (Isan) where they could learn Isan culture by staying in the villager and filed works in Ban Nhong Weang Hee School which have been conducted by EDF. On the last part of the program, they went to visit EDF-Lao and JICA who was a big part to support education system in Laos. Other than that, they did volunteering activities at Namhoum Primary School and Japanese Department of National University of Laos.
EDF expected APU students could get more and deeper knowledge about NGOs /NPOs work and education condition in Thailand and Laos even Thai-Lao’s culture and way of life. In addition, EDF hoped they would keep this memorable experience to apply in their lives and realized importance of education and they could be the one who could develop the educational conditions to be better in future.
