Channarong , Applicant for a 3-year lower secondary scholarship for the 2025 academic year.
Channarong, Grade 6, Surin Province
Applicant for a 3-year lower secondary scholarship
for the 2025 academic year.

My family consists of 7 members: my grandfather, grandmother, father, mother, two older brothers, and myself. My grandparents are both 62 years old and receive only a senior citizen allowance of 600 baht each per month. My grandfather is seriously ill due to a bowel condition and requires surgery, while my grandmother does not work and stays home to care for him.

Channarong, 12 years old, is currently in Grade 6 and lives with his father, mother, and older brother, who is in Grade 11

My father works as an electrician, earning 300 baht per day. However, he is suffering from chronic tuberculosis and has been receiving treatment for over six months without a full recovery, which prevents him from working regularly. My mother works as a waitress at a restaurant and coffee shop, earning 266 baht per day, which is the primary source of income for our family.

I also have two older brothers. The first one completed Grade 9 but is now working as a casual laborer. The second one is currently studying in Grade 11.

Channarong and his grandparents, both 62 years old, who are in poor health and unable to work. Their only income comes from the elderly allowance of 600 baht per month each

Although my family has many members, the living expenses are very high, especially because both my brother and I need to attend school. My mother works very hard to support us all, while my father cannot work due to his illness. We live in a small rented room with just one room, and the rent is 1,400 baht per month, so we have to live very frugally.

Despite the hardships, Channarong refuses to give in to fate. He has applied for a scholarship to complete lower secondary education, so he can use his diploma to pursue vocational studies

Despite these challenges, I have not given up. I dream of continuing my studies in Grade 7, as I do not want to miss the opportunity to get an education, unlike my older brother, who had to stop his studies. After completing Grade 9, I plan to pursue vocational training to secure a job and support my family in the future.

If I receive this scholarship, I will use it to ease the financial burden of my education, such as tuition fees, lunch costs, report fees, and other expenses, allowing me to continue my studies until I finish Grade 9 and beyond.

"Receiving this scholarship will provide me with the opportunity to build a better life and avoid the struggles my parents face."

Thank you very much for considering me for this opportunity. I promise to work hard and make the most of this chance.
