During the rice planting season, my parents have to work in the rice fields and during the harvest season, I help my grandparents dry the rice paddies. Everyone pitches in to work hard under the sun or rain, just to earn a little bit of extra income.

Sometimes, we have to skip meals or eat very little. There were times when our family could only afford just only one boiled egg to share together. In the mornings, my parents have to feed the cows and in some days, when I accompany them, I help gather grass for the cows or assist in plowing the fields or cutting Eucalyptus wood for sale. I see my parents working tirelessly almost all the time, sometimes hardly having time to rest or eat.
Aside from helping in the fields, I also do various household chores such as sweeping, cleaning, doing laundry, cooking, washing dishes and feeding the animals. During weekends, I do extra work to earn additional income washing people’s hair and removing grey hair.
In addition to helping out in the fields, when at home, Rungwipa also assists
with various household chores to help lighten the burden on her parents.
I want to work harder to earn more money to help take care of my grandmother, who is suffering from cataracts and needs surgery, as well as cover the expenses of her regular visits to the hospital and travelling expenses are quite high. I try to do whatever odd jobs that come alone to do my share of earning money for the family.
On my free time, I always read books to gain more knowledge because I aspire to pursue higher education, get a job and support my family financially. I travel to school by a truck, 700 baht a month, which is our kind of school bus around here. Sometimes, my mother has to request payment extension from the driver because we can't afford it. On days when my mother doesn't have money, she borrows from neighbors so I can go to school. Some days, I skip meals to save money to help my parents, and whatever is left, I save for my future education.
Rungwipa is an excellent student with a GPA of 4.00 and aspires to receive
a scholarship to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse.
I am a determined student with good academic performance, maintaining a GPA of 4.00. I enjoy studying science because I love experimenting with new things. My dream is to become a nurse because it's not only a stable profession but also because I have a naturally helpful to others. I want to help people recover from illnesses and injuries. Being a nurse will be challenging as it involves solving specific problems that arises each day. I hope to receive scholarship support to fulfill my dream, help in my family's income and make my parents proud.
I am determined to continue studying hard and overcome obstacles, which is the least that I can do to repay the kindness and sacrifices of my parents who have raised me since birth.
