Candidate for one-year vocational scholarship,
Academic Year 2023

Hi, my name is Atitaya, studying in Vocational school Year 2, accounting program at Khao Wong Technical College, Kalasin province.

My parents got divorced when I was young and I now live with my mother in Kalasin province. Before moving to live with my mother, I used to live with my father, brother and aunt in Surin province until I finished grade 9. At that time, I wanted to complete high school but my aunt advised me to study informal education instead so I could work early and earn early to help my family. So I decided instead to pursue vocational education. That is why I moved to live with my mother.

in Kalasin province today.

Atitaya helps her mother sell grilled meatballs and sausage at various
temple fairs and does a variety of part time jobs to support
her own education and to not over-burden her mother.

We live on hand-to-mouth life so I go to help my mother sell grilled sausage and meatballs at merit ceremony or temple fair. The income depends on the number of people at the event. I do not really have time during weekends to hang out with my friends like others.

Atitaya dreams to have her own business someday. She has already
started learning how to bake as a hobby.

I also do other jobs, such as collecting garbage in flea markets for 300 baht once a week. At least it helps the family to have more income and it makes me feel good. If future opportunities would allow it, I would like to own a business and earn enough money to support my family. I love doing math and calculation, so I chose to study accounting. I also believe doing calculation can keep me focused and it is a form of meditation. I enjoy doing part time work, and I am thinking of making bakery products to sell.

If I get a scholarship, it would help me with payment for the cost of my final year in vocational diploma studies. Thank you in advance for your kindness and for your consideration in granting me scholarship. Again, thank you very much.
