EDF first implemented its scholarship program in 1987, granting 41 scholarships to disadvantaged students in Udon Thani.  Since then EDF has granted many more scholarships and continues in its commitment to empowering disadvantaged children through education. To date, EDF has expanded its working area covering 61 provinces in every region of Thailand with more than 5,600 schools andmore than 398,000 students receiving scholarships. In addition to the scholarship program, EDF also operates more than 300 school development projects through out Thailand.
