Applying for the Scholarship for orphaned students
affected by the Unrest in the 3 Southern Border Provinces,
Academic Year 2024

Hi, my name is Nazeefa, 17 years old and studying in grade eleven in Narathiwat Province. I currently live with my mother, grandfather, and grandmother.
Since I can remember, my mother has been the sole breadwinner of the family, taking care of all the children and ensuring they receive an education.

Nazeefa Sahakol is currently studying in Grade 11 in Narathiwat Province.
She is one of the orphaned children affected by the unrest
and lost her father since 2006

Nazeefa knows that her mother works very hard, regardless whether the work is light or hard make there is food for everyone. Despite being a petite woman, her mother works very hard and takes on various difficult work. Nazeefa helps her with all the household chores. She is determined to complete her education, secure a good job and help support her mother and her family.

Nazeefa and her mother works tirelessly to take care of everyone in the family,
ensuring that they have enough to eat

The incident that led to the loss of my father occurred when I was just 2 months old in the year 2006. At that time, an unidentified group of armed with guns raided our home. Four people, including my mother, were shot. My mother was shot in her right arm and had to undergo surgery. She was hospitalized for nine days. That night was the saddest night for our family and preventing me from ever having the chance to meet my father.

Nazeeha knows fully well the sacrifices of her mother who works tirelessly,
and never complained to anyone. Nazeeha helps with the household chores

It has been 17 years from that day in 2006 growing up without ever seeing my father's face. I never felt the warmth and comfort of his embraces. When I was a child and saw my friends with both their parents, going places together, sometimes I felt a deep jealousy. I wished to have that too. However, it was just a child's longing. It was probably the misfortune of my family that night, but even in misfortune, there was still some good fortune. I still have my mother who has been giving me security, comfort encouragement every day that passes.

Nazeeha has grown up without ever seeing her father's face,
and has no recollection how he really looked like

I hope to receive a donor’s kindness in granting me the scholarship. I promise to study well and strive to achieve the highest possible academic success. I aim to be a good student and a positive contributor to society. Thank you.
