“There are 3 people in my family, my mother, a twin brother, and I. My father has passed away. I only have my mother. Every day, my mother picks the wild vegetable around the village and sells them to earn some money for family expense. She would keep some vegetable for us to eat. Some days she goes to cut the rubber trees in the rubber tree farming."

"I have spent some of my scholarship money on purchasing my sport gear, outfits and shoes. I’ve used the old one for a long time. It’s very old. The first day when I wore the new outfit and shoes, I was very excited. I also got more sport gears from kind sponsor. I am very happy because my brother and I love to play table tennis together. We will also share the gifts with the neighbor kids, too. Thank you very much.”

Winisara Sansumran (Pear)
Grade 7 student,, Nongwangnuer school, Kalasin province
EDF scholarship recipient in the school year 2012

“ I am a girl who likes to play sports. I especially like Takrow, which is usually played by boys. I have been a representative from my school to compete at the provincial level. I live with my grandparents and 2 sisters. Since my parents were divorced, my sisters and I have never seen them. My grandparents have to go fishing at the pond and the creek everyday. They sell the fish to get some money for the family expenses. On the weekend, I help my grandparents to try to earn some money. I weed the rice field or in the farm, depending on who is hiring. Even though I make little money, I am happy that I can help my family out."

"I was very happy when I found out that I was awarded the scholarship. I’ve purchased a pair of sport shoes for the Physical Education class. I am very glad that the donor has given me some adorable stationary. I have never had things like this. I really appreciate this. I thank the donor from the bottom of my heart.”
